The Weight of Two Oranges

Words & Images by Lynda Wilde

The Weight of Two Oranges is a collection of poems and photographs inspired by two places: the rocks, trees, and lakes of Eastern Ontario and the semi-arid high desert landscape of the Oaxaca Valley.

Susan Haldane (Hard Bargain Road) observes that the rich imagery of Lynda Wilde’s language combines with her spare, stunning illustrations into a poetry of contrasts: the familiar with the exotic, ice with colour, quiet pleasures with vivid memories and dreams. This is a story of love and loss; a portrait of the places of her heart — of all our hearts.

Lynda Wilde lives between the cities of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, and Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico. Her work has been published in literary journals in Canada and in the U.S.A.
