Whether you wish to reserve the entire lodge for a private stay or select a room for one of our hosted retreats or events, Wintergreen Studios can accommodate your needs.

Staying at Wintergreen is a bit like summer camp for grown-ups, except the beds are much more comfortable and the food is delicious!

Straw-bale Construction

It’s true. The first little piggy would have been fine, if he had just covered his house with plaster. Straw-bale is non-combustible (the insurance rates are lower because of it), and because of the incredible insulating properties, the building remains cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Even better—the walls are permeable so the building breathes, so the air inside always smells fresh and clean.

Designed with community in mind, the kitchen is a popular gathering spot. Spacious and open, with a whimsical combination of wood, steel, copper, and ceramics, guests are welcome to chat with staff in the kitchen (as long as they wash their hands first!).

Adaptable Meeting Space

The Great Room, with its flexible furniture, makes it possible to arrange tables to accommodate a seminar for 60 guests, or create a space for an intimate dinner for 4. The tables are so flexible, in fact, that they can be “disappeared” to transform the space for a morning yoga practice or for the square dance that’s part of the Annual Land Art BioBlitz.
