How can we achieve zero emissions in Ontario by 2050?
The day will open with a presentation by Steve Lapp offering something of a road map for Ontario for the next 25 years. Next, you’ll take part in a discussion around personal actions—what can individuals do? We will explore two topics: residential heat exchange pumps and electric vehicles. Attendees will have a chance to hear from homeowners and installers about the challenges and benefits of heat pump installation as well as opportunities to ask questions of the panel.
After lunch, there will be a short presentation on the state of EVs in 2024, followed by a ride/drive of the EVs collected in Wintergreen’s parking lot. There will be a variety of cars, including (we hope!), the Volkswagen ID4, Volkswagen e-Golf, Kia Soul, Chevrolet Equinox, Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Kona, Hyundai IONIQ 5, Chevrolet Bolt, and Nissan Leaf. A cornucopia of zero-emissions vehicles!
The presentations will be video recorded so that we can post day’s highlights on our YouTube channel.
The former Wintergreen Renewable Energy Co-op invites past members and friends for what is sure to be a provocative day, leaving you feeling inspired by practical and viable ways to help achieve the zero emissions goal in our own communities and beyond!
