How can we achieve zero emissions in the Kingston area?

With widespread acknowledgement of the global climate crisis, Kingston was the first municipality in Ontario to declare a Climate Emergency. Following Kingston’s lead, other Ontario cities have followed suit. Now, our collective task is to tackle the question: How can we achieve zero emissions in the Kingston area?

Wintergreen Co-op invites members and friends for what is sure to be an action-packed day which will leave you feeling inspired by practical and viable ways to help achieve the zero emissions goal in the Kingston area… and beyond! Our 9th Annual Green Energy Retreat will be held at the beautiful Wintergreen Studios.

What will the day be about?

Come and contribute to discussions stimulated by a great lineup of speakers. We will hear from Greg Allen, Steve Lapp, Paul McKay, Rick Rooney, Emily Ferguson of Kingston Climate Hub, as well as Kingston City Counsellor Robert Kiley and Councillor Jim Neill. Janice Ashworth, General Manager of Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-Op (OREC), will share examples of projects that OREC, along with its new sister organization, the CoEnergy Co-op, are developing all over eastern Ontario.

We will explore how a collaboration between Wintergreen Renewable Energy Co-op and OREC could bring more solar PV and energy conservation projects to the Kingston region. You will also learn about new investment opportunities to help fight climate change and make a reasonable return on your capital.
