Join us for a day of discovery, a day of hope and healing, a day of learning from the bounty of the fall forest.

In the morning we will take part in a forest therapy session with Stana Luxford Oddie. Gourmet picnic lunches will be provided, to be enjoyed outdoors if weather permits, or in sheltered areas with physical distancing should the day prove to be rainy or cool. In the afternoon, Rena Upitis will introduce a series of art/writing exercises designed to help us reflect on life and living in these challenging times. Afternoon activities will also take place outdoors or/or using indoor spaces with physical distancing measures in place. We will close the day with a shared discussion over afternoon tea.

In order to maintain COVID-safe protocols, this workshop is limited to 10 participants.

STANA LUXFORD ODDIE is a registered Forest Therapist. Forest Therapy is a mindful, healing and connective practice inspired by the Japanese practice of “Shinrin-Yoku” which translates into “forest bathing”. Spending time in nature not only strengthens human immune response and reduces stress, but also make us more creative, mindful, and content in our lives.

RENA UPITIS loves the outdoors, in any weather, at any time of year. It is where she feels most fully alive and in touch with the things that matter most. A musician by training, she is an educator by profession, working with learners of all ages in a multitude of settings. She is an amateur published poet and loves dabbling in mixed media. Rena is one of the Founding Directors of Wintergreen Studios and she designed and helped build the lodge as well as the many outbuildings scattered throughout the 200 acres of Wintergreen.
