Stunning photography. Moving meditations. A journey that changes us all. Camino is a book and an homage to an exceedingly long walk, music played en route, and four friends who are now three.

Reviews:

It's ravishing. Profound. It takes me to a place I've never been and a trek I've never made. Peter Coffman is an artist in words and in images.

~ Shelagh Rogers, Host of CBC's The Next Chapter

The inner and outer journey: a journey for the ear in the form of a powerful and plangent music played by a master, and for the eye, by the poignancy of a path appearing and disappearing in the clear contrasted black and white of a photographic artist. A most beautiful combination.

~ David Whyte, poet, author of Pilgrim

The sublime words of Peter Coffman accompanied by his achingly beautiful photographs lie open before me and touch my heart. It is not easy to catch the subtle nuances of the inner journey but Camino has succeeded where many fail. This is a gift to be treasured; as a blessèd reminder to those of us who have walked the way and an inspiration to those who have yet to discover the power of pilgrimage.

~ John Brierley, author of the Camino de Santiago guidebooks

The first creative fruit of Peter Coffman’s and Oliver Schroer’s pilgrimage was Oliver Schroer’s acclaimed CD camino, released in 2006. Lauded by critics as “astonishingly beautiful and fragile” and “luminous and stirring”, Oliver’s music blends seamlessly with Peter’s words and journey.

The download code included with the book provides access to four previously unreleased tracks from Oliver’s rich collection of recordings made on the Camino. They complete the textured evocation created by this book, as well as providing the perfect complement to the original CD.

Oliver Schroer’s work was as much about the spirit as it was about the music. A true musical pioneer, an inveterate traveller, an irrepressible raconteur—Camino was the culmination of his life’s work, philosophy and passion. This book captures Oliver’s passion.

~ James Keelaghan, Juno award winning singer songwriter
